Alcorn: "Jennifer brings people together to solve Northern Virginia's toughest challenges"

Today, Fairfax County Supervisor Walter Alcorn (D-Hunter Mill District) announced his endorsement of State Senator Jennifer Boysko in her campaign for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. Alcorn praised Boysko’s collaborative approach and record of delivering transportation and infrastructure investments for the region.

“Throughout her years of public service, Jennifer Boysko has demonstrated an unparalleled ability to bring diverse stakeholders together to tackle Northern Virginia’s most pressing issues,” said Supervisor Alcorn. “From securing critical transportation funding to ensuring our schools and local governments have the resources they need; Jennifer understands that progress requires partnership. Her deep knowledge of local government and collaborative spirit is exactly what we need in Congress.”

As former Chair of the Board of Supervisors’ Transportation Committee, Alcorn highlighted Boysko’s leadership on multimodal infrastructure in the legislature.

“Jennifer Boysko has been a steadfast ally for Northern Virginia on transportation issues in Richmond,” Alcorn continued. “She recognizes that our region’s economic growth and quality of life depend on smart investments in transit, pedestrian safety, and congestion reduction. I know Jennifer will be a strong partner in Congress to keep us moving forward.”

“Walter Alcorn is a dedicated public servant who knows how to get things done for his constituents. I’m honored to have his support,” said Boysko. “As Supervisor and Planning Commissioner, Walter has helped shape the future of our region through his leadership.”

Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors in 2019, Alcorn had an extensive career in public service and community leadership. He served for 16 years on the Fairfax County Planning Commission, where he led groundbreaking initiatives on Chesapeake Bay protection, workforce housing, and the transformative re-planning of Tysons Corner. Alcorn currently chairs the Boards Committee on Older Adults and serves as Vice-Chair of the Transportation and Technology Committees. Alcorn is also an alternate on the Board of Directors of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
