Senator Lashrecse Aird Endorses Jennifer Boysko for Congress

Senator Aird: “Jennifer Boysko has the integrity and grit to take the fight to Washington”

Today, Virginia State Senator Lashrecse Aird (D-13th District) endorsed fellow State Senator Jennifer Boysko in her bid to represent Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. Last year, Senator Aird won a competitive primary herself to secure the Democratic nomination for the state Senate.

“Jennifer and I were elected to the House of Delegates in the same year, and this past year we got to serve together again in the Senate. I’ve had a front-row seat to her unrelenting advocacy, determination, and unimpeachable integrity,” said Senator Aird. “We are witnessing unprecedented challenges in Washington and I want someone with the grit of Jennifer Boysko as part of the Virginia delegation, cutting through gridlock and bringing about real change. I’m thrilled to offer my complete support to Jennifer because she has what it takes to stand up for our democracy and make things happen on behalf of Virginia families.”

As longtime advocates for voting rights, Senators Aird and Boysko have worked together to expand access to the ballot box and ensure every Virginian has a voice in our democracy.

“Lashrecse is a dedicated champion for voters’ rights and ethical government. Her friendship and collaboration have meant so much as we push for policies that lift up all Virginians,” said Boysko. “I’m grateful for her support and look forward to continuing that fight in Washington.”

Prior to her election to the Virginia Senate, Aird served four terms in the House of Delegates representing parts of Chesterfield County, Dinwiddie County, Petersburg, and Prince George County. She and Senator Boysko entered the General Assembly together, both being elected in 2015.
