Former Congressman Jim Moran Endorses Jennifer Boysko For Congress

Moran: "Jennifer has what it takes to get things done in D.C."

Sterling, VA – Today, former U.S. Representative Jim Moran (D-VA-08) announced his endorsement of State Senator Jennifer Boysko in her campaign for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. As a longtime friend and constituent, Moran highlighted Boysko’s passion, work ethic, and ability to deliver results in Congress.

“As a former Member of Congress, I know what it takes to get things done in D.C.,” said Moran. “So you can believe me when I tell you: My friend Jennifer Boysko has what it takes. Her passion and work ethic are unparalleled, and I know she will serve us Virginia well in Congress.”

Moran, who represented Virginia’s 8th District for over two decades, emphasized the importance of keeping the 10th District in Democratic hands. “It took us a long time to turn Virginia’s 10th district blue, and in order to take back the House next year, we MUST keep it blue,” he said. “Jennifer is the candidate who can get the job done – but first, she needs to win the primary election.”

Moran also praised Boysko’s crucial role in the rescue of 4,000 beagles from the Envigo breeding facility in Cumberland, Virginia. “Senator Boysko’s tireless efforts over several years were absolutely critical in exposing the shocking mistreatment at Envigo and bringing about the largest animal rescue operation in Humane Society history,” Moran said. “Her compassion and resolve in fighting for stronger animal welfare laws exemplify the kind of leadership we need in Congress.”

“Jim Moran is a dedicated public servant and a dear friend,” said Boysko. “I’m honored to have earned his support, and I look forward to working together to deliver results for Northern Virginia families in Congress.”

Moran recently hosted a fundraiser for Boysko at his home. He was the first member of Congress (former or present) to endorse in Virginia’s 10th District Democratic primary.
Prior to his time in Congress, Moran served as Mayor of Alexandria and Vice Mayor of the Alexandria City Council. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for federal employees, environmental protection, and animal welfare.
